The Crash Ensemble has two main aims:

  • To perform music which involves a strong multimedia component.

  • To widen the repertoire of music presented to Irish audiences by performing works of new music composers from home and abroad.



  • Audience

    In just over three months, the Crash Ensemble has managed to build an enviable reputation for the presentation of exciting, high qulaity concerts of contemporary music.

    Since its inception, the ensemble has attracted enthusiastic audiences for its particular belnd of music, video, dance and electronics, presented in a theatrical and challenging way.

    Performance.. The Crash Ensemble is dedicated to the performance and presentation of contemporoary music and multimedia work in a stimulating and entertaining way.



    The Ensemble
    The ensemble can be viewed as a collective of creators and performers and includes composers, video artists, systems programmers and choreographers.

    More specific objectives include:

    presenting concerts that cover the full spectrum of contemporary music in a new an dynamic way

    presenting a wide range of multimedia and inter-disciplinary works

    widening the repertoire of music presented to Irish audiences

    developing a repertoire of Irish multimedia works by encouraging composers to become active in this area and commisioning new works

    being exacting in our standards for the performance of the most demanding new works so as to present them in the most compelling manner possible

    ensuring that the repertoire we develop is taken on tour to regional centres and internationally

    developing workshops and composer encounters as an integral part of the ensemble's activities
